The case of the present politicians, officials, contractors, businessmen etc., can be compared to the case of Kuchela as far as the sin is concerned. You cannot compare Kuchela with these people as far as the nature of the soul is concerned. Regarding the nature of the sin, the comparison is that all these people snatch away the wealth of others in spite of their stabilized life. God has given you sufficient wealth to maintain your health. But, you steal others wealth in doing the corruption, which develops tension that spoils your health. All these people will be severely punished like Kuchela, who suffered with poverty for a long time. The sin of these people is common to the sin of Kuchela. But, there is difference between the sinners. Kuchela is a good soul devoted to God. It is the spur of the moment in which Kuchela slipped. The wife of the preacher gave two parts of food, one for him and the other for Krishna.

The part of the food given to Kuchela is sufficient to pacify his hunger. But, due to over ambition, he stole the food of Krishna and ate it also. In this way, the nature of the sin is similar to the nature of the present people because they steal others’ wealth through corruption in spite of the sufficient wealth given to them. But, the nature of the sinners is different because Kuchela repented a lot for doing sin especially in the case of God. When the sin happened, Kuchela did not know that Krishna was God. Later on, when Krishna brought the dead son of the preacher alive, he recognized that Krishna was God. His repentance was extreme and he became a very strong devotee of Lord Krishna. He never bothered about the poverty because he knows that it is the punishment given to him committed towards God. He went to Krishna only due to the pressure of his wife but, did not ask any help since he realized the background of his punishment.

You may think that corruption in the case of God is only serious and the corruption in the case of human beings is not that much serious. In fact, this point is totally reverse. God is not affected by the corruption of Kuchela since He is omnipotent. But, the human beings are with limited energy and limited wealth. God becomes more furious towards the corruption done to the human beings. This will spoil the balance of the society and God becomes extremely furious. Even though God did not affect by the stealing of the Kuchela, God punished him because such behavior of Kuchela may be extended to the human beings in course of time. You should not steal the money from the temple thinking that it will not affect God. The money of the temple is used in the service of the human beings only. The jewels of God are also important to attract the human beings to come to the temple and see God. The sin of Kuchela was his first sin, which also was the last sin. The punishment of Kuchela in this world itself is to preach the world. If all the sins are punished in the hell only, there will be no practical proof to realize here the inevitable punishment of a sin. The protection of Kuchela was also for preaching the world. If you do not repeat any sin, all the record of your punishments and sins is destroyed. The realization that brings the reformation is the fire of divine knowledge that burns all the sins (jnaangnih… Gita ).

The punishment can only reduce the magnitude of the sin. The reduced sin in the form of a tiny seed can never be burnt by punishment. But, reduction of the sin is also useful to the world. The sinner takes lot of time to do the sin just like the seed takes lot of time to become a huge tree. The childhood is this time of growth. When the sin becomes a huge tree, the human being becomes a demon. Then again, the cycle of punishments repeats. If the soul enters this world like a demon in the beginning itself, this world is always severely disturbed. Hence, the hell, where the punishments are given, is useful in the divine administration. Only the divine knowledge and subsequent divine devotion can burn the seed of the sin.

In ancient India, the education system was mainly concentrated on divine knowledge and development of devotion. There were no courts, police department and anti corruption-department. Only the king used to deal all the cases with the help of a board of judges because the number of sins was very little. The education system contained little concentration on the earning of money needed for food, cloth and shelter. Only little money is sufficient for the basic needs and hence, much concentration on professional education was not done. The ethics of the society was the most predominant field of education, which can be achieved only by knowledge and devotion. Temples were many than universities and colleges. The scholars in the temple used to preach the spiritual knowledge to develop ethics in public. Hence, such huge temples are seen. They were learning centers of spiritual education. Now, the temples have also become centers of business because here the devotees come and bargain with the Lord. They offer money to God for some favour in return. Even God is dragged into corruption! Today, the centers of professional education are everywhere and the spiritual knowledge disappeared. This is the reason for the present corruption, which is going to disturb the society finally leading to chaos.

THE IMMEDIATE NEED IS REVIVAL OF DIVINE KNOWLEDGE http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1909/the-immediate-need-is-revival-of-divine-knowledge Tue, 19 Dec 2017 01:14:41 -0500 dattaswami1 1909@/discussions THE IMMEDIATE NEED IS REVIVAL OF DIVINE KNOWLEDGE

It is difficult for atheist to remain pure

O Learned and Devoted Servants of God,

The over attachment to worldly bonds is the source of sin. Every human being exists in this stage of over attachment to world. Pravrutti is the reduction of this over attachment so that limited proper attachment to the worldly bonds is reached there by the balance of this society is achieved. Over attachment to worldly bonds is injustice and pravrutti is the justice. Nivrutti is total detachment from these worldly bonds so that total attachment to God results.

The human being is inherently associated with the characteristic of attachment to either world or God. As the reduction of the attachment to the worldly bonds proceeds, simultaneously the attachment to God proceeds. If there is ten percent reduction in the attachment to worldly bonds, it means, there is ten percent attachment to God. Therefore, pravrutti does not oppose nivrutti. In fact, pravrutti is the middle stage between over attachment to world and over attachment to God. Without pravrutti, nivrutti is impossible. Pravrutti is aiming at nivrutti only. Jaimini Sutras deal with pravrutti and Brahma Sutras deal with nivrutti. Ramanuja explained the meaning of the word Atha, which is the first word of the first Brahma Sutra, like this: you must start nivrutti after pravrutti only. Without reaching pravrutti, the middle stage, nivrutti, the final stage cannot be reached. This is logically correct. Shankara told that if the human being has already reached nivrutti in the previous birth, in this birth it can straightly start from nivrutti without going back to pravrutti again. Hence, there is no contradiction between Ramanuja and Shankara in the context of the meaning of the first word of the first Brahma Sutra.

Basis of nivrutti is the acceptance of existence of God. If the existence of God itself is not accepted, pravrutti becomes meaningless and unstable. Social justice cannot be maintained if the existence of God is not accepted. If God does not exist, what is the use of reducing the over attachment to this world? If you say that the over attachment to worldly bonds leads to sin and injustice, which in turn disturb the balance of society, nobody understands the overall effect of it. In such case, everybody wants that all other human beings should follow pravrutti to maintain the balance of the society and individually commits sins. This becomes the famous story that everybody should pour a cup of milk in the empty tank kept by the king so that everybody can pour a cup of water, which cannot be detected. Everybody wants the social justice and balance of society, but at the same time wants his or her over attachment result in the sin, to proceed in undetectable way. You cannot control every human being through the law of court and the police department.

The reason is that every individual working in any department is with the same psychology. Today, you are hearing the news that an honorable judge of the honorable court has taken huge bribe to protect the injustice! Every employee in every department is influenced by the corruption. The employee may belong to government or administration or parliament or assembly or even judiciary system. Very few only exist, who follow justice due to fear of God.

It is very difficult if you say that an atheist can also remain pure. The reason is that one day or other, the atheist will think about the ultimate in following justice. In his mind, certainly, the coming question will be “what is the ultimate benefit for me if i follow the justice and what is the ultimate loss to me if i do injustice in an undetectable way?” He will think that since God is absent, there is none to reward him for following the justice and there is none to punish him for doing the injustice in hidden way. If the injustice is not done in the hidden way, there may be punishment in this world by the court of law.

If you can escape the punishment here by doing the injustice in talented hidden way, there is materialistic benefit that promotes your enjoyment in this world. The final conclusion will be to do sin in undetectable way so that you can escape the ultimate punishment here and at the same time enjoy the materialistic benefit of the sin in this world. You can propagate the justice through your speech everywhere so that the social balance is maintained. If the social balance is not maintained, your enjoyment here also gets disturbed. Therefore, maintain the social balance to have your personnel enjoyment without any disturbance. Hence, go on influencing everybody through speech to follow justice. Thus, everybody wants to maintain the social balance with selfish motive only and not for the sake of God since God does not exist. Hence, atheism will lead to social chaos one day or other. In the case of theism, there is God to reward you for following the justice. Even if you do the sin in hidden way, the omniscient God will detect and punish you here or the upper world. The religion may be defective due to certain blind and foolish customs and traditions. But, the religion is far better than the atheism because the religion provides the golden theism to control the sin and maintain the social balance.

First Qualification of Judge is Divine Knowledge

The Veda says that the first qualification of the judge should be the divine knowledge (yea tatra brahmanaah…). Today, an advocate or the person having the legal knowledge is becoming judge. The advocate in his long practice argued for several unjust cases for the sake of payment and knows very well to support the injustice misinterpreting the law! Mere knowledge of the law cannot be the qualification of the judge. He should have the divine knowledge of the God and should fear to do injustice. The judge in any country having strong religion is not influenced by corruption due to fear of God. In any country having very strong religion, the judge is never corrupt. Of course, the wrong side of the religion should be left on. At the same time, its right side should be taken for the benefit of social balance. The divine knowledge should become part and parcel of the total education system so that every human being fears to do sin and follows justice to get reward from God. If this one good advice is implemented, the entire society will run on perfect justice and the social balance so that there is no need of police or court.

The idea of establishing a new controlling system like Lokpal is not correct because, the members of such controlling department are again with the same psychology. If the base is cleaned, there is no need of control in system. If the base is unclean, the dirt will enter the controlling system also. The difference between the ancient world and the modern world is at this basic level. In the ancient world, the entire education system is only spiritual knowledge. The professional education was given very little importance since very little wealth is sufficient to serve the basic needs of the human beings. In the present modern world, the spiritual knowledge disappeared and the entire education system is only at professional level. As the result, everybody concentrates on the professional knowledge to earn more and more even through sins forgetting the concept of God, who is the supreme controller. As a result, the social balance is lost and this results in the anger of God by which the natural environmental balance is also lost, which will lead to global destruction in a very short time. The urgent action needed is the revival of divine knowledge, which is the real remedy to stop the global destruction in future.

Spirituality – Environment http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1907/spirituality-environment Tue, 19 Dec 2017 00:46:11 -0500 dattaswami1 1907@/discussions Spirituality – Environment

The application of discoveries of scientist for the welfare of humanity resulted in the environmental pollution. The discoveries were successful but the application has not ended in the welfare, but harmed the humanity. It is like saying that the operation was successful but the patient died. The essential reason for such failure is absence of faith and devotion in God. God wants to punish the people through natural calamities and pollution. Scientists cannot control His programme. Therefore, mere social service without the element of spirituality fails. Even if it succeeds, it is only temporary. The service slowly ends in injury. Such a person who serves without touching God also goes to heaven and he will be thrown out of the heaven after some time. It is only temporary happiness, which results finally in misery only. If you associate the propagation of divine knowledge and devotion in such a social service, it gives permanent best results.

The punishment of God is only for a change. Your propagation brings that change. Therefore, God withdraws punishment. Mere social service without spiritual mission is like giving mere boarding and lodging to the hostel students without teaching in the classes. In such case the students get spoiled and finally you have harmed them. The nature of the punishment reveals the nature of the action of that sinner. The above punishments show either slow or sudden killing of human beings. Therefore, the nature of the deed that is responsible for such punishment must be also killing. All the living beings are souls like your soul. You have taken the birth of the plants, birds and animals as a punishment, which infact is spiritual training only. A selfish soul is born as a plant and goes on donating its fruits, which were the hidden treasures in the previous birth. By killing the plant you are interfering with such spiritual training.

The mind of the God is irritated and that leads to the above effects. Thus a green plant should not be cut. A paddy plant is cut when it dies by becoming yellow due to the loss of Chlorophyll. It is equal to cutting the dead body. That is not equal to cutting a living bird or an animal. This is the reason for the propagation of non-violence by human incarnations like Bhuddha and Mahavir Jain. You can refer to the various arguments given by Me, to various questions on this same topic. There is no other alternative than this. Prayers to God cannot stop these things. The propagation of non-voilence (Ahimsa) is the only way. Atleast let it be reduced and slowly let it be completely avoided. The Hindu scriptures (Dharma Sastras) attempt in this line. They ask the fisherman to stop catching the fish at least in Banaras and atleast on Maha Sivarathri. When that is achieved, the scriptures mention some more sacred places and some more festival days. Slowly they control the whole sin by finally saying not to catch the fish on any day at any place.

The Human Incarnation is Most Suitable For Humans http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1900/the-human-incarnation-is-most-suitable-for-humans Tue, 16 Apr 2013 05:16:55 -0400 dattaswami1 1900@/discussions
God comes to earth to direct the spiritual aspirants to the correct path. Direction is very very important. Hence, we find that the position of ‘Director’ happens to be the topmost position in any institution. The basis of direction is information, i.e. knowledge, which is obtained as the conclusion of a perfect analysis. This perfect and impartial analysis is called as science. In order to preach this true knowledge, God comes in human form alone and not as a statue. If a statue starts speaking to you, you will be so excited that you will not be able to receive knowledge in your ground state and get your doubts clarified. If a human being charged by God speaks and clarifies your doubts, you will receive the knowledge in your normal, unexcited ground state. This is the tremendous merit of the medium of the living human form. At the same time, there is a tremendous defect also. That defect is that you always neglect the human incarnation. Your carelessness is due to your ego and jealousy towards other human beings.

You may suggest that it is better to let the statue speak so that the problem of jealousy can be avoided forever. The problem of excitement can subside in course of time . But if the statue speaks, it means that the statue has become a human being. The human being consists of matter and soul (awareness-energy). The statue is made out of matter alone. It can speak only when the soul enters it. If the statue speaks, it means the statue has become a human being since the human being is made out of matter (body) and soul. Then the same story of jealousy repeats!

You are always fascinated by the energetic incarnations from the upper world, like Father of heaven, Narayana etc., which are relevant only to the departed souls who are present in energetic bodies in the upper worlds. An energetic incarnation is a homogeneous mixture of the inert energetic body, the energetic soul (awareness) and the unimaginable God. The human incarnation, which is a mixture of the inert materialized body, the energetic soul (awareness) and the unimaginable God, is relevant to humanity here. You neglect this human incarnation just because It is closely associated with you here and you are instead fond of the energetic incarnation of the upper world since it is far from you.

It is very difficult to get a vision of the energetic incarnation here since it is irrelevant to humans. Even if you get a vision, it is momentary and it comes only after a long and severe penance. There is no difference between the energetic incarnation (Narayana or Father of heaven) and the human incarnation (Krishna or Jesus). Jesus said that He and His Father are one and the same. The unimaginable God and the imaginable soul are common to both the energetic and human incarnations of God. The only difference is that the human incarnation has a body made out of inert matter while the energetic incarnation has a body made out of inert energy. Matter and energy are inter-convertible forms as per the formula of Einstein (E = mc2). If you neglect the human incarnation here, you will neglect the energetic incarnation there too, after your death. This negligence is due to the principle of repulsion between common media. The result is that you lose God here and there, forever and everywhere.

The Soul of Every Human Being is Not God http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1899/the-soul-of-every-human-being-is-not-god Tue, 16 Apr 2013 05:03:37 -0400 dattaswami1 1899@/discussions
Shankara said that the soul is God. It does not mean that the soul of every human being is God. This wrong sense is taken by ambitious people, who want to become God without any effort. The real meaning of Shankara’s statement is that whenever the unimaginable God comes down, He is always associated with the soul (awareness), i.e. God is present as the human incarnation. It only means that God will never enter inert bodies as said in the Veda (Na tasya pratimaa…). You can refer to any item by another item with which it is closely associated. For example, you can call out to the apple-seller (bearer of apples) as “Apples”. Similarly, the ‘bearer of awareness’ can be called as awareness. It does not mean that the awareness itself is God or that the apples themselves are the apple-seller.

The ambition to become God spoiled the human being and made him misunderstand this concept. Of course, the human being certainly has the chance of becoming God by becoming a human incarnation whenever God wishes so, for a certain good purpose.

The human being is matter (body) + energy in inert and awareness forms. Energy in awareness form is the soul. The human incarnation is the human being + unimaginable God. The energetic incarnation is the departed human being + unimaginable God. The departed human being is inert energy (body) + energy in the form of awareness (soul). The human incarnation or energetic incarnation is a single-phase system containing three components. The human being in this world or the upper world is a single-phase system consisting of only two components (the unimaginable God is not present).
Incarnation is a process of donation (Datta ) of unimaginable God to human beings through an imaginable medium. Since the incarnation is a system of three components, which are homogeneously mixed as a single phase, it is ‘not three’ (Atreya ) but one. Thus, the incarnation is said to be Dattatreya (Datta + Atreya). In the incarnation, the unimaginable God identifies with the medium to become one. The incarnation happens as per the wish of God for some good purpose. It is not for satisfying the ambition of a human being, who wants to become God. Therefore, you can become God provided you never aspire for it. Hanuman became God since He always aspired to be only a servant of God.

The possessor of right and excellent knowledge is God http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1894/the-possessor-of-right-and-excellent-knowledge-is-god- Wed, 03 Oct 2012 12:19:29 -0400 dattaswami1 1894@/discussions Veda says that God is the infinite right knowledge
God is the excellent knowledge
The Author himself can alone give the correct sense of his own statement.

Veda says that God is the infinite right knowledge and that God is the excellent knowledge (Satyam Jnanam…, Prajnanam….). This does not mean that God is the knowledge itself. It only means that the possessor of right and excellent knowledge is God and such knowledge is His correct identification mark since it is His inseparable characteristic. If some body wears a red shirt always, the red shirt becomes his identity mark and you can call him as the red shirt like calling “Oh! Red shirt! Come here”. Gita gives clarification on this point, which says that the possessor of knowledge is God (Jnaanitvaatmaiava……). Since God enters the human being only, such identification is mentioned. The human being is always characterized by the knowledge. Knowledge is one sided characteristic of awareness. It means knowledge is always associated with awareness and awareness need not be associated always with knowledge.

An animal or bird has awareness but no knowledge. Therefore, you should not take awareness as the meaning of the words indicating knowledge in Veda like Jnanam and Prajnanam. This clarification is given in Gita, which says that God enters human body (Manusheem….). Hence, Gita always gives clarifications on Veda. Such correct clarification can be correctly clarified by the human incarnation only since the same God, who said Gita, can alone give the original sense of the text. The Author himself can alone give the correct sense of his own statement. Since, God is one and the same in all the human incarnations, any human incarnation can clarify the text said by any other human incarnation.

Krishna followed this (continuously enjoying life containing both positive and negative things) in His life and His preaching, the Gita, was perfectly implemented in His practice. He was enjoying His own death while the foot was bleeding, hit by the hunter. He consoled the hunter and removed his tension over the incident. He enjoyed the genocide of His family members as a spectator in the end.

He enjoyed the defeat in the hands of the enemies like Jarasandha, who flew away to construct a new city in the island present in the ocean. He enjoyed while Shishupala was repeatedly scolding Him and was never subjected to any tension. He enjoyed while He was called as the thief of butter in other houses. Except entertainment and enjoyment, even a trace of tension could not touch Him in His entire life.

You may say that God is enjoying the world-cinema since He is away from it. You may differentiate from God by this, stating that you are participating in the cinema. This cannot be accepted since God also entered the world-cinema as Krishna and participated in it like you. The only difference is that He is acting in the role, where as you are living in the role by completely identifying yourself with it. Such divine knowledge applies to you also and Shankara preached this.

The essence of the entire message of Lord Krishna, Bhagavad Gita, is to develop the highest state in which you can be in the state of continuous enjoyment and happiness through entertainment. If you can enjoy the problems also, such continuous state of happiness is possible. The human being has always the worst tendency to pick-up negative things only in the life and go on brooding over those things. Either you should avoid thinking about those negative things (dhyayato vishayaan …) or you should be able to enjoy those negative things also like the dish of chillies in meals.

Avoiding the thinking of negative things in the life is impossible since they touch and penetrate the mind in the practical life. Therefore, the only alternative way is to enjoy those things also and be happy in every minute of life. Such state is called as Brahmi sthiti (Eshaa brahmi sthitih …), which means that you should continuously enjoy your life containing both positive and negative things like God enjoying His creation containing both good and bad.

We can follow Krsna's direct instructions, or follow His representatives instructions, but sometimes they are not the same, and therefore we get different result!!!

Krsna says:
"Focus your mind on Me, be My devotee, be My worshiper. Bow down to Me. Engaging your mind in this manner and regarding Me as the supreme goal, you will come to Me." (BG 9-34)

"Focus your mind on Me. Be My devotee. Be My worshiper. Prostrate before Me. You shall come to Me alone. I promise you, truly, for you are dear to Me." (BG 18-65)

Krishna or Jesus, who is the true God? http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1885/krishna-or-jesus-who-is-the-true-gods Thu, 05 Jul 2012 05:37:33 -0400 tehi_2012 1885@/discussions
Christ took human form to be born to Mary as the Saviour of the world who would save people from their sins and show them the path to etrnal life. He was conceived in Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit. Was Krishna born this way as the Saviour of the world?

Jesus said, 'I am the way the truth and the life;no one comes to the Father but through Me. (John 14:6).
He said, ‘I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture’. (John 10:9)
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies”. (John 11:25)
'We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true--even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life'. (IJohn 5:20)
'Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows. He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed'.(Isaiah 53:4,5)
'The gospel is that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and then He was resurrected on the third day'. (1Cor 15:1-4)
'He was delivered over to death for our sins and then was raised to life to put us right with God. By faith in this, then, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand'. The Lord placed a flower garland around each devotee's* neck.* Then the Lord ordered: Sing Krsna. Talk of Krsna. Worship Krsna. Sing Krsna's name. Think only of Lord Krsna. Think of no one else. If you love Me, then please sing only of Lord Krsna. Sing of no one else. Whether asleep, awake, or eating your meals, think only of Lord Krsna day and night. With your mouths speak only of Him. (Caitanya bhagavata Madhya-khanda Chapter 28 Text 25-28)

In every respect please follow the order I will now give to You. Go to every home with this request: "Please chant Krsna's name, worship Krsna, and teach others about Krsna. Don't tell them anything else. Make them chant." (CB Madhya 12)

Smiling, the Lord blessed everyone, Always remember Lord Krsna. Chant Krsna! Worship Krsna. Hear Krsna's name. Make Lord Krsna your whole life, your wealth, your very breath. (Caitanya bhagavata Antya-khanda Chapter 3 Text 331-332)

Lord Gauranga said: Mother, if you had offered your affection to Krishna instead of Me, you would have received so much benefit. Please give up your affection for Me and serve the lotus feet of Krishna. (Caitanya-Mangala).

One day all the devotees, headed by Srivasa Thakura, were chanting the transcendental qualities of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Not liking the chanting of His transcendental qualities, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu chastised them in an angry mood: What kind of chanting is this? He asked, Are you leaving aside the chanting of the holy name of the Lord? Thus Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu chastised all the devotees, telling them not to show impudence and spoil the entire world by becoming independent. (CC Madhya 1-269-271)

After everything was thoroughly washed, a Vaishnava from Bengal, who was very intelligent and simple, came and poured water on the lotus feet of the Lord. The Gaudiya Vaishnava then took that water and drank it himself. Seeing that, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu felt unhappy and was also angry. Although the Lord was certainly satisfied with him, He became very angry externally in order to establish the etiquette of religious principles. The Lord then called for Svarupa Damodara and told him, Just see the behavior of your Bengali Vaishnava. This person from Bengal has washed My feet within the temple of the Personality of Godhead. Not only that, but he has drunk the water himself. I now do not know what My destination is because of this offense. Indeed, your Bengali Vaishnava has greatly implicated Me. At this point Svarupa Damodara Gosvami caught the Gaudiya Vaishnava by the neck and, giving him a little push, ejected him from the Gundica Puri temple and made him stay outside.* (CC Madhya 12-122-128)

Your wanting to go with Me is simply a desire for sense gratification. In this way, you are breaking two religious principles, and because of this I am very unhappy. If you want My happiness, please return to Nilacala. You will simply condemn Me if you say any more about this matter. (CC Madhya 16-140-141)]]>

Iham & Param (This world & after death) & God http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1877/iham-param-this-world-after-death-god Fri, 04 Dec 2009 12:50:56 -0500 dattaswami 1877@/discussions
Basic interest on God is called as Shraddha. This basic interest cannot be created by showing the benefits from God after death (Param) like protection from hell, because the problems in this world (Iham) are very much relevant and urgent. The human being tries to postpone the param to old age. But, even in the old age the Iham continues and does not give any relief to concentrate on Param. Both Iham and Param form Pravrutti, which is nothing but selfishness only. Whether you worship God for Iham or Param, you are not having real love on God. Your love on God is only for yourself and for your family members only. Nivrutti means real love on God without any trace of selfishness. Therefore, Shankara told that your care for Iham and Param should be totally left over if you want to enter Nivrutti (Practical service of God in Human form here on this earth).

To create the basic interest, God is linked to Iham in the first step. In fact, God is the controller of this world as well as the upper worlds like hell and heaven. Therefore, Iham is naturally linked to God only. Hence, in the first step, interest on God is created by linking Iham to God. If you worship God, your problems in this world get solved. This is a practical truth. You need not confuse in this point by arguing that God will not interfere in your problems in this world, since the doctrine of deeds (karma) should not be violated. The doctrine of karma is not disturbed at all, even if God helps you and solves your burning worldly problem, because, God can postpone the punishment of your sin by adding penalty and thus pacify your grief. He can also favor you by giving some benefit by using the fruit of your past deed. All this is some re- arrangement only without disturbing the justice of karma. Such re-arrangement is done with a view to create the basic interest on God.

After some time, you become free from the burning worldly problems and now you will start worshipping God for protection in the upper worlds. In this process, you will develop lot of enthusiasm to know more and more about God. The detailed knowledge of God is known as Jnana Yoga. This knowledge increases your interest on God. When the basic interest is multiplied by several folds, it is called as devotion. As long as your aim is selfish, the devotion is impure. In this process, you will come to know about Nivrutti and you will understand the importance of Nivrutti.

Salvation means cutting the bonds with everything other than God. http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1876/salvation-means-cutting-the-bonds-with-everything-other-than-god. Fri, 04 Dec 2009 12:50:22 -0500 dattaswami 1876@/discussions

When the intensity of Shraddha (Basic interest on God is called as Shraddha) increases, it is called as devotion. When you enter Nivrutti (loving practical service to God in Human form), there is no risk at all, since the eternal bond with God is formed. In Nivrutti, there is no need of worship of God. Worship is ex-pression of devotion. Real love does not require any ex-pression. When the occasion comes, it gets expressed spontaneously.

You are not expressing daily your love on your children. When the proper occasion arises, it springs up without any effort. In Nivrutti the devotion is expressed in the test conducted by God on you. You say that God is testing your devotion. Your statement is correct in the language of souls. The same statement in the language of God is that God is trying to help you in proving that you have the highest bond with God only and not with anything or anybody other than God. Salvation means cutting the bonds with everything and everybody other than God. Kaivalyam means formation of the single highest bond with God. Both salvation and kaivalyam are essential.

When you have seen human incarnation, you have seen God http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1875/when-you-have-seen-human-incarnation-you-have-seen-god Fri, 04 Dec 2009 12:49:47 -0500 dattaswami 1875@/discussions Actual form of God is immaterial if you have high value for God

You need not worry that the actual form of God is beyond your imagination. This point is immaterial. The grace of God is important. When you prove that your bond with God is single and highest, you are blessed by God forever. The knowledge of actual form of God is un-necessary in this context. You have seen the king (God in human form) and got full favor from the king. When you have seen the king, it does not mean that you have seen the whole body of the king in naked condition (the absolute unimaginable God). When you have seen him, you have only seen his face, palms and feet.

All the body is covered by cloths and jewels and only very little portion of his body is opened to you. Similarly, when you have seen the human incarnation, you have seen God. When you have understood the existence of un-imaginable God through human incarnation, it means you have understood the aspect of existence, which is a little portion of God.
You may get favor from a Muslim queen, who is completely covered by a black mask from top to bottom. She is like the totally un-imaginable God. How does it matter? Will you worry that you are unable to see even a tiny hair on her head? You have understood that the queen exists in the black mask. The realization of the existence of queen before you is sufficient to express your gratefulness and devotion to the queen.

People are unnecessarily worrying on unnecessary points of God like the knowledge of actual form of God etc. You are not worried about the actual necessary points like proving your highest devotion on God etc. Generally, if you are incapable of concentrating on the necessary point, you will be engaged on the unnecessary points to cover your incapability. The point is not about imaginable form or unimaginable form of God. The point is whether you can prove practically that God is highest for you or not?

Can you give highest value for God? http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1874/can-you-give-highest-value-for-gods Fri, 04 Dec 2009 12:49:15 -0500 dattaswami 1874@/discussions
A voice from the sky came down to Abraham asking him that whether he can sacrifice his son for the sake of God. Here God is not in the visible form. Abraham immediately proved his devotion. Jesus asked the fishermen to leave everything and follow Him. They left everything and followed Jesus. Here, Abraham and fishermen proved their highest devotion for God. In the case of Abraham God was in invisible form and unimaginable. In the case of fishermen God was in a visible human form. Therefore, the imaginable and unimaginable concepts of God are not important.

Moreover, the unimaginable concept of God is not from the side of God. It is only from your side since it is your defect. Your imagination cannot transcend the dimensions of space to understand God, who is beyond space, being the creator of space.

It is only from your side since it is your defect. Your imagination cannot transcend the dimensions of space to understand God, who is beyond space, being the creator of space.
God is the absolute reality and the space along with consequent creation is a relative reality. This point keeps God beyond space. This point cannot be sacrificed because the creation including space can be possible and under the full control of God only, if God alone is the absolute reality. If both God and creation are absolute realities, the control of God on creation becomes impossible. If both are absolute realities, you can see God in the space itself. But, there cannot be two absolute realities. Absolute reality can be one only. Otherwise, there is no possibility of creation. The concept of creation comes into the picture only when one absolute reality exists and creates the relative reality.
A real rope cannot create a real snake. A real rope can create a false snake as an illusion. Therefore, to see the absolute God, you have to make the world as another absolute reality and in such case the creation becomes impossible. All this is the technical difficulty in the process of creation and hence it is inevitable. If you understand this analysis, you will not mistake God as sadist troubling you by hiding Himself. All this analysis is given by Shankara.
[All these information are regarding the absolute God, but such God comes in human form to allow us to see Him, through the human incarnation]

Tests of God http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1872/tests-of-god Fri, 04 Dec 2009 12:47:52 -0500 dattaswami 1872@/discussions God is truth all the activities of God are based on truth only
If you are able to sacrifice anything and anybody for the sake of God, you need not fear for test. If you studied every chapter in text book, you need not fear for the examination because you can answer any question from any chapter. If you are fearing for test, it means that you are weak in a particular chapter. God is omniscient and knows your weakness. Hence, God gives only the question from that chapter in which you are weak. In worldly studies, the examiner is not omniscient and therefore by chance the examiner may not touch the chapter in which you are weak. But, the case of God is quite different since He is omniscient. He cannot declare you that you are the master of all the text book, unless you are thorough in every chapter. Do not misunderstand God as a cruel examiner.
God is truth and hence all the activities of God are based on truth only. If you are weak in a chapter and if you are declared as the master of the text book, is it a true declaration? Therefore, God will not test you unless you are able to sacrifice everything and everybody for His sake. But, meanwhile you think that you can prove your highest devotion even though you have not reached that stage. Hence, to make you realize the truth of your false assumption, God conducts the test and proves your failure. In such test, He will not publicize because His aim is not to insult you in the public. His aim is only to make you realize your incompleteness in your achievement, so that you will try to reach the perfection after knowing the truth. If you are not tested, you will continue in your false impression and sit quite without any further effort.

If you have reached the perfection in sacrifice, God will conduct the test and publicize the result so that the other devotees will take your success as an example. If the successful case is not publicized, then also there is a danger because the devotees may sit quite thinking that such practical achievement is impossible for anybody. As long as you are trying for perfection, God will not touch you with the test. Once you stop in your effort, God will test you and test may be either for your sake or for the sake of public.
You may say that God already knows whether you are a successful case or a case of failure in the test and hence there is no need of test from God. The test is not required for God. The test is required for the souls. If you are a case of failure, you must know that, so that you will be aware of your actual position in the spiritual journey. You may be thinking high of yourself and the test will reveal the truth so that you will put the effort from the step on which you are actually standing. If you are a case of success, then also the test is to be conducted for the sake of others to see and take you as an example. Therefore, the test is required in both the cases. The case of failure is tested for the sake of the tested soul and such test is not for the public. The case of success is tested for the sake of public. God will not test the case which is not at all involved in the spiritual journey. When you have not joined the institution for study, where is the point of conducting test?

You are part and parcel of this creation, which is the relative reality created by absolute reality. Any item of relative reality cannot be controlled by you, since you are a part and parcel of the relative reality. You cannot control yourself also because you are the relative reality and yourself is also relative reality. Relative reality cannot control relative reality. Only the absolute reality can create, control and dissolve the relative reality.
The rope appears as a snake. The rope created the snake. The rope maintains the snake. Finally, the snake disappears in the rope on realization. The snake is just a false impression or imagination for the rope. You are a part and parcel of the snake but not of the rope. The tip of the rope is shining. This shining appears as a gem on the head of the false snake. The snake thinks that it is the owner of that gem. Both the snake and the gem are created and maintained by the rope. The snake is unaware of the existence of rope. This is the exact situation of yourself having the ego of ownership.
You think that you are the owner of your body, your wealth and your family members. You are that false snake. Your body, your wealth and your family members constitute the false gem. Just like the snake is false, the gem is also false. The snake is actually the rope and gem is actually shining of the tip of rope. The owner is false and the owned item is false. Hence, the ownership linking these two is also false. If this basic truth is realized, the ego of ownership disappears in the stage of the seed itself. It is very difficult to realize if you allow this seed to become the tree.]]>
Theory should become practice incase of God http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1829/theory-should-become-practice-incase-of-god Wed, 25 Feb 2009 16:04:10 -0500 dattaswami 1829@/discussions Theory should become practice incase of God

The theoretical part consisting of knowledge and devotion expressed in words should lead to action or practice. This practical part or action called as Datta alone gives the fruit. This action is sacrifice (Daanam), which may be donation of work (Karma Sanyasa) or donation of fruit of work (Karma Phala Thyaga) or both together. Therefore, Datta is the final God, who gives the fruit to you, because action alone can give you the fruit directly.

Datta is famous for tests. Without the test, the certificate cannot be given. The knowledge learnt by you through out the academic year is Jnana Yoga. The inspiration or concentration in learning is Bhakthi Yoga. The preaching forms the words. All these three constitute the part of theory. In the end of the year, writing the examination is the action. Therefore, Datta is the action through examination before giving you the fruit. He is the final and ultimate form of God to give any divine fruit. If you understand Datta in the internal sense in this way, you will be really benefited in your spiritual efforts.]]>

If you are ordinary person you should follow the rules of your deeds and nature. If you are a devotee, even then, you should not ask God for help. Your devotion must not aspire any result. You are asking God for help means that you want God to violate his own natural rules. The impression of millions of angles and sages is disturbed if God violates his own rules. That will give a poor impression on God. You are putting God to inconvenience by forcing Him to use His supernatural power. Whether you are a devotee or not, you must always try to solve your problems by putting your best effort.

If you fail, even then, do not ask God to help you. Then, you think that it is your fate and worship God as usual .Therefore, if you put your best effort, still fail because it is beyond your limits, if you happen to be a real devotee and do not ask for the help from God, then you will be helped by the super power secretly. The secrecy is due to preservation of the sacredness of his administration in the eyes of others.]]>

One shall serve only the contemporary Human Incarnation There is no greater devotee http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1866/one-shall-serve-only-the-contemporary-human-incarnation-there-is-no-greater-devotee Fri, 18 Sep 2009 08:55:09 -0400 dattaswami 1866@/discussions
There is no greater devotee than Hanuman and Gopikas. Both have worshipped their contemporary human incarnations only, which were Rama and Krishna respectively. Hanuman did not worship the statues of Vamana or Parusurama who were the past human incarnations or the statues of heavenly energetic forms like Vishnu, Shiva etc., or the formless God. After completing the learning from the god-sun, He did not say that He was Brahman already but He became the Brahman finally by serving the contemporary human incarnation. The present Advaita Scholar is reverse to this who says that he is already Brahman and never became Brahman! Hanuman did not go to temples and pilgrimage, never chanted any mantra, never did any penance etc. He simply recognized the human incarnation in His generation and served Him in whatever way the Lord required.

The same Hanuman lived after Rama also till the next human incarnation came. During the time of the next incarnation, Krishna , Hanuman was worshipping Rama only in His mind. But Krishna corrected Him and made Him a devotee of the contemporary incarnation again. Similarly, Gopikas did not worship the statues of past human incarnation like Rama or statues of Vishnu etc., and did not do anything except worshipping their contemporary human incarnation by offering butter, by dancing with Him etc. These Gopikas reached the highest Goloka. These Gopikas were the ancient sages who wrote the Upanishats, which form the basis for Advaitins.

As Gopikas also, they retained their previous knowledge about God and cannot be treated as illiterate (Mahatmya Jnana…Narada Bhakti Sutra). Pandavas who recognized their contemporary human incarnation but could not do total sacrifice for the Lord due to limitations of justice, could go only up to heaven. Every devotee in Hinduism has digested these three epics thoroughly and the essence of these is very very clear. What more proof is required for the concept of the contemporary human incarnation than this? Everywhere in Gita, the worship of Krishna was stressed which means the worship of the contemporary human incarnation.

The worship of alive human form of God is far better than worshipping the energetic forms and worshipping the dead human forms (Devan Deva Yajo Yanti Pitrun Yanti Pitru Vratah…. Gita). The word “Pitru” here can be taken as the past human form of God who was the real father of the soul. Jesus referred to these alive people who worship the past dead forms as dead because they should go to the past in the same state of dead to get the effect of contemporary human incarnation (Let the dead burry the dead…).]]>
Why people insult and neglect the human incarnation? An ignorant person neglects Mah http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1863/why-people-insult-and-neglect-the-human-incarnations-an-ignorant-person-neglects-mah Wed, 16 Sep 2009 06:41:19 -0400 dattaswami 1863@/discussions
An ignorant person neglects Mahatma Gandhi seeing his cheap cloth. He cannot estimate the real value of Gandhi. He will give lot of value to a cinema actor who is in a colorful dress. Similarly when the Lord comes in the human body, which follows all the rules of the nature, an ignorant person insults Him seeing the ordinary human body, since he does not recognize the value of the internal form. This is told in Gita (Avajaananti Mam Mudhaah). The Lord can make His body to be divine and above the rules of nature by His super power. But He does not do this because He does not like to violate the rules of nature, since He is the creator of those rules. One will not generally contradict His own rule and insult himself.

An ordinary soul in the form of Yogi or a demon frequently exhibits his body to be beyond the rules of the nature because he is not insulted since he is not the creator of the rules of the nature. By such petty miracle the ignorant person believes such Yogi or demon as the Lord. The Lord is the ruler of Yogis (Yogeeswara). Once a saint walked on the river but Shri Rama Krishna Parahamsa who is the human incarnation of the Lord came by a boat paying one rupee. The Saint proudly told Shri Paramahamasa that he obtained the power to walk on the water by Sadhana for the past thirty years.

The saint asked Paramahamsa whether He did such tedious Sadhana in His life. Paramahamsa told simply with a smile that the cost of his thirty-year-old Sadhana is one rupee!! And that He never did such cheap Sadhana. Arjuna prostrated to the feet of Lord Krishna before all the soldiers without egoism and jealousy. Krishna was a human being like Arjuna. Moreover Krishna is only the driver where as Arjuna is the owner of the chariot. Arjuna recognized the value of the internal form of Lord Krishna and therefore Krishna revealed His inner form as Viswa Roopa to Arjuna. Therefore those people who get rid of jealousy and egoism can only give the value to the human incarnation.]]>
Human form of God and His testing http://krishnatalk.com/discussion/1862/human-form-of-god-and-his-testing Wed, 16 Sep 2009 06:40:31 -0400 dattaswami 1862@/discussions
The human form of the Lord, which comes to test you, is itself called Datta. People are fond of statues because there is minimum guarantee of the business with the statue. You give one chocolate to the Lord aspiring for ten chocolates. The ten chocolates may be given or may not be given. But at least the one chocolate, which you have given must not be lost. This is the minimum guarantee business, which only you prefer in the world. Therefore when you offer one chocolate to the statue it will not eat. The ten chocolates may come or may not come. At least your one chocolate is saved but if you give one chocolate to the human form of the Lord, He will eat it and thus the minimum guarantee is lost.

The factors involved for your success in the test of Datta are 1) Can you give more value to the Lord than any thing and any body in this world? 2) Can you believe the human form of the Lord, which has approached you completely without any trace of doubt?

Majority of the people fail in the first point itself because they are using the Lord to achieve and happiness to their families. Such instrumental God cannot have more value than the money or the family. A very few top most devotees succeed in the first point. But they fail in the second point to recognize the human form of the Lord and to believe the human form of the Lord completely. Therefore they fail in the second point. Only one in millions and that too in one birth out of millions of births can succeed in both the points. Gita says the same (Kaschitmaam Bahunaam Janmanaam). The factors that will help you to pass the test are to catch the Satguru who can alone explain the true path from Vedas and the mental determination, which is attained by you either in this birth or in the previous births.]]>
