At least once a year, Erie County Department of Health officials inspect all restaurants and stores that sell unpackaged food. Here is a list of violations recorded Sept. 11-18.
6 critical violations
Perkins Restaurant, 4334 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek Township. (Cooler that should have been 41 degrees found at 52 degrees. Affected food discarded; Frozen chicken and ice cream not covered in freezer; Fruit flies found throughout facility, cooled macaroni and cheese dated Sept. 13 discarded; gap at back door not blocking entry of pests. Person in charge does not display adequate knowledge of food safety, as evidenced by this noncompliant inspection.) Also, 3 noncritical violations. Sept. 15

Cheeserie, 861 E. 38th St. (No certified food safety employee at location; no paper towels at handwash sink; 3-bowl sink sanitizer too high, make table not rotated, found slimy green peppers and wet cheese at bottom of containers with fresh ingredients on top. Affected food discarded.) Also two noncritical violations.

GGS Management, 1505 Buffalo Road (No soap at handwash sink, Food chopper found with old onion residue.) Also one noncritical violation
