Fight and Weight Rules
Despite safety concerns, this will be a professional fight sanctioned by the Florida Athletic Commission. Joshua and Paul will fight in three, eight-minute rounds, wearing 10oz gloves, which is standard for heavyweight bouts. The only reported stipulation is the weight limit, with Joshua, a natural heavyweight, restricted to 17st 7lb (111kg) on the day of the weigh-in.
Records and Experience
Joshua's record is impressive, with victories over the likes of Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker, and Wladimir Klitschko. He's also suffered defeats to Ruiz, Dubois, and Usyk, but boasts an impressive knockout record with 25 stoppages in 28 wins. In contrast, Paul's journey began in 2018, and he's since taken on aging UFC fighters, including his only loss to Tommy Fury. Paul has won his last six fights, including a contest with the legendary Mike Tyson. His biggest win was over former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who faced legal troubles post-fight. Paul's wins also include victories over UFC stars Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley.
The height and reach advantage also favor Joshua, who stands at 6ft 6in with an 82in reach, while Paul is 6ft 1in with a 76in reach. However, Paul has the edge in recent ring time, having fought twice in the last 14 months, compared to Joshua's absence since his knockout loss to Dubois.

The news conference and weigh-in will take place on Thursday, 18th December, at the Fillmore Miami Beach. Open workouts will be held on Tuesday, 16th December, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, featuring a bantamweight bout between Shannon Courtenay and Jessica Maltez.
